Meet author/inventor Mike Meyers

Mike Meyers, author of the Ethan Spaulding novelsThe Apollo 11 trip to the moon inspired Mike Meyers’ dream to become an astronaut. He earned a degree in aerospace engineering and was hired as a Flight Test Engineer at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. A graduate of the US Naval Test Pilot School, he has flown more than 20 different types of aircraft ranging from helicopters to supersonic fighters. Mike served as a science adviser for both the Marine Corps and the Navy. He currently directs a technology portfolio of over 140 projects ranging from medicine to missiles with the focus of transitioning them from concepts to reality.

Mike has traveled through 23 of the 24 time zones, and 49 of the 50 United States. His other adventures include being underway on ships varying in size from 30-foot competitive sailboats to aircraft carriers, going undersea on submarines, sleeping in a snow cave at 9000 feet, and rafting down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. In 1991, Mike bicycled 3700 miles for charity from Los Angeles to Boston. He is an avid climber, adventurer, tech junkie, cyclist, and inventor. He’s also been known to play street hockey with his kids.
